FAQs
There isn’t a right or wrong answer to this. By working with me we can start on good practices from day one! This mainly consists of APA safe sleep guidelines, suggestions on a bed time routine, and how to survive those first few months of newborn life.
Let’s talk about what it is not:
- It is not night weening
- It is not CIO (Cry it Out)
- It is not leaving your child alone for hours
What sleep training is:
It’s teaching your child to fall asleep independently and be able to put themselves back to sleep independently if they wake up in the middle of the night.
I use a variety of methods that will be custom-tailored to your family’s needs and expectations.
Unfortunately yes. Babies/children cry for all sorts of reasons. In this instance it’s typically because CHANGE + OVERTIRED = TEARS. You are diving into a situation that your child is not used to. You went from one habit to trying to start a new one. Protesting is 100% normal and part of the process.
The amount of time that I put into your plan and carefully considering your intake form I cannot offer refunds. Plans will work to the amount of effort that the family puts into it. Families must keep in mind that change will not happen overnight. It takes time to make new habits and your expectations need to be realistic. However, we may implement an extension on the time that we work together. This will be considered on a case by case basis
